Fear not the Double Wedding Ring quilt, Brother is at your side

Welcome to, not only another informative week of QUILTsocial posts, but Part 2 of Christine Baker‘s Double Wedding Ring tutorial. You might remember the first post that started it all in March, The anatomy of a Double Wedding Ring quilt, in which she explained in detail what parts make up this very intricate design. That week held a lot of information to make your own version of this traditional quilt.

This week, Christine continues working on her bed runner exploring the capabilities of the Brother Dreamweaver XE.

In next week’s series of blog posts, Christine explains in detail curved piecing the parts of the block together. She continues her tutorial explaining how to piece the curved blocks together to assemble the top, in what she calls THE absolute easiest way of piecing the DWR quilt.

Moving on to the quilting, it’s beautiful to say the least! Here’s a sneak peek in the last photo. The Dual Feed Foot is stellar in accomplishing this task. See what she has to say about it.

She finishes off the week by writing about the how to create a bias binding, this is a must for a curved edge. It’s seldom used, as there is a little math involved in her technique. It’s like numbers, numbers, numbers, then, magic!

Since I’m not a fan of math, I can really appreciate Christine offering up the equation for this excellent binding! Don’t miss it!! She advises to copy the formula and keep it by your sewing machine for future reference, it’s that good!

Join us! As we create this awesome quilt pattern using the Brother Dreamweaver XE – all week!

Ta-Da! Worth every stitch!
