Yesterday I showed you how to make the front of the heart design cushion after cutting all the shapes on the Brother ScanNCut SDX225.

The cushion front measures 14″ x 15″.

The back of the cushion is made using (2) 9½” x 14″ pieces of fabric.
- Sew a narrow double-fold hem on one 14″ edge of each back piece. Overlap the two pieces so you end up with a 14″ x 15″ rectangle (the same size as the cushion front).
- Layer cushion front and back, wrong sides together. Stitch along outside edges using a scant ½” seam to join all the layers together.

Binding
- Sew the (2) 3″ strips of binding together, end to end, to make one long strip.
- Sew on the binding using a scant ½” seam and stopping ½” from each corner so you can make a mitered fold. This will give you a ½” finished size binding.
- Fold the binding to the back and hand-stitch in place.

Cushion Form
- Cut (2) 14½” x 13½” squares for the cushion form cover.
- Place the pieces right sides together.
- Stitch all around, leaving a 5″ opening on one side.
- Turn right sides out.
The cushion form is finished
- Stuff with Fairfield Poly-fil stuffing.
- Stitch the opening closed by hand or machine.
- Place the cushion form inside the cushion. You might have to add a little more stuffing in the corners to fill them out.
And now you have a finished heart-theme cushion!

You’ll remember I had cut out lots of extra heart shapes when I started this project. It’s so easy to cut the shapes perfectly when using the Brother ScanNCut SDX225 – how can you resist cutting out some extras?
