Clover Quick Bias Tape adds bold definition to quilt landscapes by Paul Leger November 27, 2025 written by Paul Leger November 27, 2025 20 Yesterday, we saw how the ODIF 505 Temporary Adhesive Glue Stick helped place the hills for the Seasons Remembered landscape quilt. Today we’re enhancing what is already a beautiful piece of art. This will be done with CLOVER Quick Bias Tape. Clover Quick ¼” black Bias Tape Before starting with the Clover Quick ¼” Black Bias Tape, I decided to add an extra element of interest to the quilt—a road! To create the road, I cut out a shape in proportion to where I wanted it to appear. I then flipped it over and sprayed ODIF 606 Spray and Fix No-sew Fusible Adhesive Web on the back. I like to think of it as “interfacing in a can”, another product I can’t live without! Once the adhesive is applied, I bring the piece to the ironing board and press it in place, just as I would when using regular fusible interfacing. Adding a road detail to the Seasons Remembered quilt The quickest and easiest way to sew down Clover Quick ¼” Black Bias Tape is with a SCHMETZ #1794 Twin Needle Carded – 80/12 – 4.0mm. SCHMETZ Twin Needle 80/12 – 4.0mm The main difference from using a single needle is that two spools of thread are required. Threading the machine is essentially the same as usual, except for one key step: one thread goes on one side of the tension disk, and the other on the other side. Once threaded correctly, the twin needle creates perfectly even parallel stitches for a professional finish. Threading a SCHMETZ Twin Needle For best results, use a ¼” open-toe embroidery foot or a similar foot. These are ideal for sewing down the Clover Quick ¼” Black Bias Tape accurately and neatly.
