Get Holiday-Ready with the PFAFF creative expression 750 & SINGER MOMENTO

Getting an Early Start on Handmade Holiday Gifts

I decided to get an early start on my Christmas gifts by cutting out (repeatable patterns) on the SINGER MOMENTO 24-inch Craft Cutting Machine and sewing/embroidering them with the new PFAFF creative expression 750 Sewing and Embroidery machine. In my February 2025 post, Mini quilt making with mySewnet + PFAFF creative expect 350g, I talked about how to use the CREATIVATE  Software (formerly MySewnet) to create a mini quilt in the CREATIVATE Quilting Software, cut it out using the CREATIVATE Crafting Software and the SINGER MOMENTO24” Craft Cutting Machine and create the embroideries in the CREATIVATE Embroidery Software.

First impressions of the PFAFF creative expression 750

But first, as this sewing/embroidery machine is new, I will quickly talk about it.

The PFAFF creative expression 750 Sewing /Embroidery machine is brand new on the market. This new machine has many of the PFAFF creative icon 2 features, and just from looking at it, we can see the large open sewing area, the large touchscreen, and the improved lighting system. It is CREATIVATE, WIFI connected. In Sewing mode, we can activate the Original IDT (for the quilter in me, one of the best features). It has 730 stitches, including the patented PFAFF stitch techniques, the PFAFF favorite Stitch Creator, and an improved Needle Piercing Power, which we have all asked for! A lot of us feel intimidated by a new machine, but having a Help Center (Quick Help) takes the fear out of the equation, since all the answers are right there on the screen! For this week’s projects, I sadly won’t get to play and explore all of these. More on the Embroidery side later.

If you’re not interested in embroidery, the PFAFF creative expression 725 Sewing Machine all the same features as the PFAFF creative expression 750.

Why the SINGER MOMENTO 24” Craft Cutting Machine is a game-changer

The SINGER MOMENTO 24” Craft Cutting Machine is my new favorite assistant in my sewing room for accurate, repeatable fabric cutting. It’s easy to create the cutting files —just tell it what to cut and how many. I also find it easy to reproduce a paper pattern in a cutting file format. Now that I have got the steps down, it’s easy.

From cutting to stitching – the perfect pair for accurate sewing

Rotary Cutting while quick can also be quickly inaccurate, it’s easy for a ruler to slip, a blade to cut too deep (or the dreaded not deep enough and leave threads uncut) As for absolute accuracy, well I thought I was pretty good but using the SINGER MOMENTO 24” Digital Craft Cutting Machine has proved to me that I was deluding myself. I think back to all the quilts that seem to have issues coming together and realized how minute a cutting difference can add up!! And then add in the “fall asleep at the wheel” sewing inaccuracies. Since I have been using the SINGER MOMENTO 24” Craft Cutting Machine to cut my fabrics, my accuracy in piecing has improved greatly!

Planning My Christmas Gift Projects

Today I quickly reviewed the machines I’ll be using so I can get into the fun stuff tomorrow. I decided to make a series of cozies for Christmas gifts, and once I get the patterns inputted into cutting files, they will be easy to whip into presents at a moment’s notice. I may even cut a couple of extra kits, as sewing them is the quick part, cutting seems to always take more time… See you tomorrow!
