These sweet little boots, made from soft felt and adorned with intricate embroidery, are designed entirely in-the-hoop, leaving just a quick hand stitch for the final touch.

Let’s start by attaching the embroidery unit. Then, it’s time for my favorite part of the process—switching on the PFAFF Creative Icon 2! On the welcome screen, tap the Embroidery option. A quick pop-up will remind you to clear the embroidery arm and remove any attached hoop before calibration. Simply tap ‘OK,’ and the machine will calibrate itself, moving the embroidery arm into position.

TIP The standard zigzag stitch plate is recommended for embroidery and applique. But don’t worry if you forget—the embroidery navigation on the screen has your back with reminders and recommendations before the stitching begins.

Now, load the bobbin, thread the machine, and attach the 6D Dynamic Spring Foot. Grab the creative 120 Square Hoop (120 x 120 mm) and prepare your “sandwich” with an 8” x 12” x ⅛” felt piece on top of an 11” x 11” piece of PFAFF Aqua Magic Plus Stabilizer. Once everything is stacked, hoop the sandwich securely.

On the screen, select the hoop size by clicking the appropriate option, then choose ‘Start Hoop Scan.’ A pop-up message will prompt you to attach the hoop. Slide the hoop connector into the attachment, front to back, until it clicks into place. Tap ‘OK,’ and your hoop scan will be done in just about a minute, and you’ll be ready to roll!

And just like that, we’re all set and ready to dive into our fantastic Christmas magic!

In our post 2, we’ll explore the incredible built-in embroidery designs library on the PFAFF Creative Icon 2 to set up and create the perfect embroidery for our Christmas ornament. It will be a fun and creative journey, so get ready to stitch something extraordinary. I can’t wait to see you there!
