Canonico January 28, 2019 881 Welcome to another extraordinary new issue of QUILTsocial Magazine! In this issue we show you ways to explore and use utility and decorative stitches for quilting your quilt and sewing on your binding. Using these stitches for quilting is an underrated method, but highly effective. We encourage you to choose any built-in stitch to add oomph to your binding, see the various stitch-outs. We also show you how to make and apply covered cording like a pro, the tutorial includes how to round the corners for a truly elegant finish. Another tutorial in this issue is how to work therm fleece into quilted projects, like the bowl cozy. Other free projects include the tic tac toe game set – all quilted using the latest Recess line from Banyan Batiks, and the quilted bench cushion cover. We take a close look at some awesome features on the Brother Dreamweaver XE and the ImageStitch app and the mysewnet on the PFAFF creative icon. Reply Janet Barker February 4, 2019 - 12:13 pm I was quite disappointed to read the article in your latest QuiltSocial issue on microwave bowl cozies using Thermo Fleece and never once see any kind of warning stating that this project cannot be used in the microwave. The unwary consumer could easily assume that a microwave bowl cozy is for use in the microwave, not on one’s lap after the soup bowl comes out of the microwave. I feel that this is a very poor (perhaps even dangerous) use of this product. Common usage for bowl cozies dictates 100% cotton materials only. Reply Carla A. Canonico February 6, 2019 - 2:53 pm Hi Janet, We inserted a word of caution in the article, thank you! Reply Quilting Jeannie February 1, 2019 - 11:42 pm I love the bowl cozy. Thank you for showing the instructions. they will be perfect for my husband. His hands have neuropathy caused by months of chemo that damaged his nerves. They receive pain messages to anything hot or cold. So, thanks for that. Reply Fred February 1, 2019 - 1:14 pm I always love to read your magazine, thank you for sharing!
