It’s always so exciting when the delivery truck shows up at the door with a big box of supplies! The latest box was full of sewing, quilting and craft products from great and reliable brands like the whole line of UNIQUE notions, HeatnBond stabilizers, Heirloom and Gütermann threads to name a few. These products can be found in many of your favorite quilt and sewing shops.
Here’s a sneak preview of what was in the box.
Who knew there were so many types of interfacing and stabilizer? I’ll be using several of these products over the next few weeks so you’ll be able to see how versatile they are.
I love these sampler boxes of thread by Gϋtermann. They come in primary colors and neutral colors. They would be perfect for taking to retreats or on vacation – you’d always have the color you needed. The smaller package of thread on the right contains 7 spools of thread made from recycled polyester bottles. According to the label, you can make 1100 yds of sewing thread from just one recycled plastic bottle. What a great idea!
And of course we always need a thread ripper. There are 3 different styles here including one that has a plastic end designed to wipe away those little loose ends of thread from your ripped-out seam.
I also received a supply of cutting tools including a 45 mm rotary cutter, thread snips and ultra sharp scissors.
The plastic bags on the left contain Clever Clips in 2 different sizes. These can be used instead of pins when working with thick or bulky fabrics. Be sure to watch the video showing how to use these clips.

There were also some patterns for tote bags and accessory holders in my goody box. I have some scraps left from a previous project, so I’ll start my first project using this ellie mae Pretty Pieced Purses pattern.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see how I adapted this pattern to make my own version of this tote bag.
This is part 1 of 5 in this series.
