I have spent quite a bit of time sewing on the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q. As I mentioned before I’m a bit of a sewing machine snob. I bet you are wondering why I would purchase this entry level computer sewing machine.
I created my top 10 list of things that I love about the H|Class 100Q. Check them out. Can you guess what my NUMBER ONE reason is?
NUMBER 10
There is little or no learning curve. I opened the box, plugged the machine in, turned it on and started to sew. It was refreshing to not have to puzzle over how to do something. For a new sewist, this is going to be an awesome feature.
NUMBER 9
I love the little red line on the plastic bobbin cover. This line helps me to line up my fabric for 1/4″ seam allowance way before the pieces get to the needle. A small feature, but a brilliant design.
The H Class 100Q helps to get an accurate 1/4″ seam allowance.
NUMBER 8
I love the FIX button and the NEEDLE STOP UP/DOWN features.
The FIX button is fabulous and pretty much essential if you are doing applique, while the NEEDLE STOP UP/DOWN is a must have for piecing, applique and many other applications. Those two are a MUST HAVE on any machine.

NUMBER 7
The feet are interchangeable with the other Husqvarna Viking sewing machines. This is a definite plus if you already have Husqvarna Viking products. I was able to use my walking foot, free motion foot and many other feet as I tried out various techniques on the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q.
Feet included with the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q entry level computer sewing machine.
NUMBER 6
Free arm feature!
The ability to have a free arm. It may not be often that you want this feature, but it is sure handy when you need it.
NUMBER 5
Nice variety of decorative stitches available. All of the decorative stitches (and the non-decorative stitches) can be further changed by altering the width and length. Some of the stitches could be adjusted up to 7 MM wide.
There is a nice chart in the User’s Guide outlining all the information for the stitches. A nice touch.
For such a portable entry level machine, the Husqvarna VIking H|Class 100Q stitches are amazingly accurate and beautiful.
NUMBER 4
Using a small lever behind the tool box, it’s possible to lower the feed teeth for free motion work.
This is not always an option on an entry level machine and I certainly welcomed the ability to lower the feed teeth rather than covering them (as is the case on some machines).
NUMBER 3
The applique stitches are awesome. I did fusible applique and finished the edges with blanket stitch and satin stitch and both were fabulous. I did some invisible applique and the results were as good as my home machine.
Tried the various stitches on the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q, appliqued flowers on quilt blocks. Fabulous stitching!
NUMBER 2
NO extension table is necessary.
I did not have an extension table (although one is available) for the duration of my sewing on this machine. Not once did I feel like I needed one. I would recommend having the extension table for free motion work as it provides more space for your hands and work to sit on.
For regular piecing – the tool box cover in front provides ample additional work space
Impressive extension table for the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q.
NUMBER 1
And the Number 1 reason why I love this machine is portability! Not only is the machine extremely friendly for carting around, but add in the functionality of it and the total package is pretty hard to beat.
I took it to my sewing days at the local church…
I took it to a five day sewing retreat…
I sewed outside in the backyard with it…
I even managed to get some sewing done in my studio with it.
The hard case is a very welcome feature and definitely makes this a portable machine. It only weighs 15 pounds and let’s not forget the comfortable carrying handle.
I never had any concerns as I threw the machine into the car. It fits very nicely behind the seat and the hard cover means that I don’t have to worry about things accidentally getting broken.
So YES – I’m now the proud owner of the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q. It’s going to serve me well and fits a need that I had (portability and functionality). I’m so excited!!
I will be back in a couple of weeks with a great new product for you to enjoy. Thanks for following along and don’t forget to send in your completed journal covers so we can post them. I hope you enjoyed reading the review the top 10 reasons why I love the Husqvarna Viking H|Class 100Q as much as I enjoyed preparing it.
Have a great day!
Ciao!
